WHAT IS A PICKLEBALL FESTIVAL ?
A Pickleball Festival is a non-competitive event aim for connection, fun and inclusion rather than winning. In simple terms: to celebrate pickleball as a social sport.
A Pickleball Festival is a fantastic opportunity to play with players from other clubs or groups that you usually not play with – Bring people together – mix ages, abilities and backgrounds in a friendly setting.
2026 is a very important year for Grampian Pickleball Club, as it marks our 5th anniversary—a significant milestone for our community. And what better way to celebrate than by organising a Pickleball Festival for everyone to come together and enjoy this fantastic sport.
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
Entries will open on Sunday the 8th of February at 10:00 am and you can use the following link:
The email received at the time of entry is only informing you of RECEIPT OF ENTRY and is NOT an offer of a confirmed place. You will be notified within 7 days of entering if your entry is in the confirmed draw or waiting list.
Emails will come from grampianfestival@gmail.com. If an email is not received, please check your spam folder.
When submitting your application yo will need to choose your level of play based on these different categories:
- Anywhere below 3.0 – Beginner/ Advanced beginner (Up to 3.0)
- Between 3.0 and 3.5 – Intermediate (3.0 to 3.5)
- Anywhere above 3.5 – Advanced intermediate/ Advanced (3.5+)
ENTRY COSTS
Registration fee: £20 plus Booking fee (non refundable): £5 = £25
(To be paid once your spot is confirmed. Refunds are available until 12 April 2026 – No refunds will be given for withdrawals after 23:59 on 12th April 2026).
We will contact everyone who has registered for the event by email to confirm whether you have secured a place and to explain the next steps for payment.
HOW WOULD IT BE THE DYNAMIC OF THE FESTIVAL?
On arrival you will be given a name label. We will ask you to attach it to your T-shirt , so that it’s easier for everyone to be on first name terms.
On arrival your will also be given a magnetic label, with your name and a colour dot representing the level of play you indicated on your application form. You will need to take this label with you and place it on the table in front of the Order of Play board when you want to play. Your name will then be added to three others on the board to play a 12 minute OR, first to 11 game.
GREEN DOT: Anywhere below 3.0 – Beginner/ Advanced beginner (Up to 3.0)
AMBER DOT: Between 3.0 and 3.5 – Intermediate (3.0 to 3.5)
RED DOT: Anywhere above 3.5 – Advanced intermediate/ Advanced (3.5+)
Your label will be placed on the ‘not on court board’ as soon as your game finishes and will be available to be returned to the table when you would like to play another game.
Players choose when they would like to play a game. If you do not want to play at any time for any reason, simply place your label on the ‘not on court’ Magnetic Board until you are ready to play again.
Order of Play Board
It’s a simple format. 9 Courts, with 4 players on each court.
- Morning : Mixed Play, see categories below.
- Afternoon : Open Play, you may agree and arrange games with players of your choice.
Mixed Play Categories
- GREEN – players with a GREEN dot will play with GREEN and AMBER dot players.
- AMBER – players with an AMBER dot will play with AMBER, RED and GREEN dot players.
- RED – players with a RED dot will play with RED and AMBER dot players.
PLEASE NOTE:
- No refunds will be considered if withdrawal is notified later than 23:59 on 12th April 2026.
- The booking fee of £5 is non refundable.
- If the event is cancelled, you will receive a full refund.
- The organisers reserve the right to add to or alter these conditions. Its decision in all matters will be final.
- All players participate at their own risk.
- Filming and photographs will be taken at this event and may be used by Grampian Pickleball Club as creative content to advertise, promote or showcase the event. It is the individual’s responsibility to make it known to the Festival organizing team before 30th April 2026 if they do not wish to have their picture taken or games filmed.
